Relentless Love of God

Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.

Jonah 3:10 (NKJV)

This week we will be looking at the word that Pastor Louis shared on Sunday titled ‘The Relentless Love of God’. Ps Louis mentioned four points that we need to be aware of.

Firstly is the call of God. There are a number of reasons that we might run away from His call, including rebellion, religion, lack of trust, fear, and lack of vision. We need to be sure that we are listening to and obeying the call of God in our lives. Secondly is the all inclusive love of God. We need to remember that God loves everyone! His love is not just for us, but also for the whole world, and even those people that we can’t stand.

Thirdly is the persistent grace of God. We can rest assured that in spite of our lack of faithfulness, God’s grace will never fail us. He will persistently pursue us in a way that we don’t deserve because He loves us so. Finally is the phenomenal mercy of God. Even when we make mistakes, sin, rebel, and run away from God, He is always faithful to forgive us and welcome us back into His presence should we just turn from our ways and repent.

  1. What in your life is preventing you from pursuing the call of God on your life?
  2. Who do you need to show love to in spite of your feelings for them?
  3. What do you need to repent from in order to walk in the mercy of God?
