Family Transformation Part 2

Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. Christ’s love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty. Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk, radiant with holiness. And that is how husbands ought to love their wives. They’re really doing themselves a favor—since they’re already “one” in marriage.

Ephesians 5:25-28 (MSG)

This week Pastor Linda Robinson continued sharing on ‘Family Transformation’, continuing the series that we started last week.

The first point that we must take note of is that we have been equipped with the most powerful weapon of all: love. The Bible is a love story; it’s all about how much God loves us. It also tells us that He has given us love and wants us to love.

Ps Linda also lists five covenant foundations that we can take from Hosea:

  • Marriage is a permanent covenant
  • Words evoke beauty
  • There is no love without honour
  • Mercy triumphs over judgement
  • Faithfulness

If we can take these principles and apply them in our lives, they will help us to achieve heaven on earth. They will help us to build healthy, biblical relationships specifically in our families but also with everyone we encounter.

Finally, we need to remember to give God room to move. God wants to work in all areas of our lives, and this includes our relationships. We just need to give Him the space to work.

  • How do you display love to your family and others around you?
  • In which of the five covenant foundations do you see space to grow? How will you do that?
  • How can you give God room to move in your relationships?
